USS Hatteras wreck

Researchers recently conducted a 3-d mapping effort on the wreck of the USS Hatteras. Hatteras engaged in and lost a gun duel with the Confederate raider Alabama, 20 miles off the coast of Galveston, Texas.

Storms apparently removed some of the sediment covering the wreck, which sits in 57 feet of water.
